Fastpitch team plans tryouts for Saturday
The Majic Styx girls’ fastpitch softball tournament team will hold its fall tryouts for 16-and-under and 14-and-under teams.
The tryouts will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in McComb.

Summit Rotary will host hoops clinic
The Summit Rotary Club will host a free basketball clinic 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Southwest Mississippi Community College physical education building. The clinic is open to all Summit Rotary basketball players ages 7-12. A fee of $10 will apply to non-Rotary members. College and high school basketball coaches will teach.
Youth grid, cheer league will play
The TNT Football and Cheer League will hold its first annual Tri-State Championship Bowl Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at C.C. Moore Stadium in McComb.
Games will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday and will be played throughout the evening. Games will resume at 8:30 Sunday morning. Concessions will be provided.
Teams competing will be from Jackson and surrounding areas, the Gulf coast and Louisiana including Ferriday, Concordia and Kentwood.
