Back on track: Parklane overcomes early deficit, outlasts WCCA

With the pressure of April baseball looming, Parklane got back on the right track by outlasting Wilkinson County Christian for a 7-6 win on Tuesday.
The Pioneers (6-12) shut down the Rams late after they overcame an early five-run deficit to halt a five-game losing streak.

Bears take down Itawamba in extra innings

Southwest's baseball team traveled to Fulton on Saturday to take on Itawamba in a doubleheader, and the Bears lost game One, 4-3, but took Game Two by a score of 14-12.
Matt Newman started on the mound for the Bears in Game One.
Newman pitched 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts and only three runs allowed.

Lady Bears earn No. 19 ranking following win over Itawamba

Southwest's softball team hosted No. 13 Itawamba C.C. in a doubleheader Saturday, with the Lady Bears winning Game One, 12-6, and dropping Game Two by a score of 8-3.
Coming off of her no-hitter against Mississippi Delta, Allie Ladnier pitched all but the final out against Itawamba in Game One.

The South Pike boys and girls powerlifting teams, led by T.J. Varnado, Cortavion Gooden, Tykeia Magee, Samiya Lowery and Maliyah Walker, secured runner-up honors at the 4A State Powerlifting Championships over the weekend at the Jackson Coliseum.
